Karowa Bridge Competition (with DKFS Architects) - 1st Place (Scheduled for completion 2020)

The maxim for the design was that the bridge should not only be a piece of infrastructure, but should also be an attractive structure where people want to spend time and therefore become a new site itself. With its viewing platforms, the structure will offer a new view of the skyline of Warsaw and the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bridge’s look stems from the engineering requirements. Engineering logic and force path are a recognisable part of the elegant silhouette, which due to its low height of 8.4 m above deck does not impair the views of the historic castle. Due to the maximum construction height allowed, the bridge has been designed as a rampant arch suspension bridge. The pylon is slanting, which gives the steel bridge an open and modern look.
